Charlie and Koda, the Joyful Golden Retrievers

One warm sunny evening last week, I met up with Charlie, Takoda (Koda), and mom Robyn at Burrage Pond Wildlife Management Area in Hanson. The location is beautiful, peaceful, and full of birdsong. There are several trails leading through the marsh with multi-colored wildflowers blooming along the edges. The two golden retrievers had been there before, and they remembered exactly where the good swimming spots were! Our attempts at keeping them dry long enough to get some “clean” portraits proved futile—but that’s okay, because what could be more genuine that a soggy, happy golden?

Charlie is 5 and his brother Koda is 3. They have an incredibly close bond and enjoy doing everything together, but they are also very different individuals. Robyn describes Charlie as being incredibly sweet and loving with the goal of being friends with everybody he encounters, while Koda is goofy, a bit naughty, and just wants to have fun. It was truly a joy to spend some time with this fantastic duo and capture their personalities on camera. Thank you, Robyn!

Charlie and Koda are so inseparable, they even walk side-by-side, as close as physically possible!
