I have always felt a deep connection to animals—from a very young age, I knew that I wanted to dedicate my life to learning about them and working with them. I spent a lot of time in college studying zoology and ecology, but because I'm also an artist, I try to combine my passion for the natural world with visual expression whenever possible. In addition to photography, I also enjoy printmaking, collage, and illustration.
I live with a ten year-old corgi named Fizzgig (I’m a child of the 80s), also known as Fizzy. She is 28 lbs of pure love and makes me smile every single day.
I am based on the South coast of Massachusetts but frequently travel to Rhode Island and Cape Cod (my favorite place in the world).
Why Pet Photography?
As much as we love and care for our pets, the fact remains that they have much shorter life spans than we do. Unfair, perhaps, but it's true. After they're gone, all we have are memories. This is why I believe it's so important to document our time together and capture their unique personalities and traits through professional photography.
Fizzgig has been through so much with me in the past ten years—her presence in my life has been the one constant that I can rely on, and I would be remiss if I didn't say she is my best friend. Knowing that I have a collection of beautiful images of her hanging on the walls and inside of an album on the bookshelf is comforting. I can share these images with people 30 years from now or 40 years from now and remember every detail. The colorful, expressive images that I create during a customized photography session is a celebration of the bond that you share with your pet.
